SNA, our thoughts and informatioin by David and Finn

SNA stands for Significant Natural area, where all natural land areas will be under Far North District Council protection. Therefore this means that soon enough we’ll have to get a contract or even pay a sum of money to build, modify, or deforest our land.

Though this may seem like a good idea at first, as it’s protecting our natural land, it also means things like timber businesses, farmers that own land, and even cold people in winter that need firewood, will be strongly affected, as timber and other wood will have far less sources.

Dairy farmers will also be affected, as they can’t make any more fields for their increasing population of livestock.

People also dislike this plan because they feel that the land that they have spent a lot of money purchasing and maintaining, won’t get any money back from it, and have a third party getting their sticky fingers all over it.

I think that though it's good to try to protect New Zealand's ecosystem, They should consider the consequences on farmers, Milk farms, builders, lumberjacks and even cold people with an empty fireplace.
